You can only get to North Captiva Island by private boat, ferry or small aircraft. Ferries run throughout the day, private shuttles can be arranged to fit your schedule and private boats can be docked at the marina for a fee.

Private Ferry

There are multiple private captains available to bring you to the island at your chosen time. This is great option if you are arriving at an odd time or for parties of 4-6 people (kids included). For parties more than 6 your choice of captains will be more limited. You may pay a little more than the larger ferries but will get customized service.

Ferry Service

Two separate ferries provide service to get you to and from the island. Each runs multiple times per day.

Land Arrivals and Departures

If arriving to the area by car, secure parking is available for a fee at each location. There are limits on how much baggage can be brought with you. Please check with your chosen ferry service for any limitations that may apply. You should plan to arrive to the ferries 30 minutes prior to your departure to be certain of a prompt departure.

Airport Arrivals and Departures

If arriving to the area by plane, Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is the largest airport in the region. Pine Island Taxi or Driven will pick up your party from the airport and shuttle you to the ferries. They can also provide the return trip. Brief stops to pick up groceries pre-ordered from Publix are permitted. You do not need to rent a car as they are not permitted on the island. Be sure to book your transportation ahead of time to avoid arriving to your ferry late. The trip should take about an hour door to door.

Fort Myers / Punta Gorda Airport hosts Allegiant Airlines which provides service to more than 40 cities around the midwest and eastern seaboard. Pine island taxi and Driven also serve this airport and the fares are similar. Travel time will be about 45 minutes door to door.

Water Arrivals and Departures

Dockage for private watercraft is available but space is limited. Please call the North Captiva Island Club or fill out a request for dockage online prior to arriving to the island. Fees are based upon vessel length and duration of your stay.
